I only choose the best of the best students to add to my practice. I look for students that are at the top of their class, with not only book knowledge but tangible life experience. I work very intimately with all my students to ensure they are providing quality treatment. They go through a training process with me so that they are fully equipped to provide best practices and help you get everything you want out of therapy. In addition, I make myself available to my student’s clients when more direction or guidance is needed. Therefore, it’s almost like getting two counselors instead of just one.

I first recommend reading each clinician’s bio on my website to get a feel for which clinician seems like a good fit for you, based on qualification, personality, knowledge, and expertise. Then, I encourage you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation with that clinician to determine if you’d like to move forward. If at any time you’d like to have a consultation with any of our other clinicians after that, we’d be happy to accommodate you.

For the most part, yes. Some clinicians may have a waitlist, while others may not be taking any more clients. Please inquire about which clinician you are interested in meeting, and we will let you know if they are available.
Yes, we do primarily all telehealth at Torrent Counseling. Telehealth can only be provided in the state that the clinician is licensed in and is client-location specific. Whatever state the client is physically located in during the telehealth session is where the clinician must be licensed for that session to take place. For example, if the clinician is licensed in the state of Nebraska, the client must be physically in the state of Nebraska at the time of the telehealth session. If the client goes on vacation to Florida, the clinician is unable to see that client via telehealth unless they are licensed in Florida as well.
Right now, I am only licensed in Nebraska, and thus, can only meet with clients who are physically in Nebraska. But that will be changing at the end of 2024/beginning of 2025 when the Counseling Compact goes into effect. I will be applying for licensure in other states at that time. So, if you are out of state, please reach out then and I will let you know if we can serve you.
